Packed like sardines, fewer seats available, failing customer service, lost bags and angry passengers are just a few symptoms of getting aboard the plane these days. For the third straight year, it is not getting any better for the passengers who fly domestic airlines. But, should we put up with it? The 2006 stats are bleak and with a rough start in 2007, I have little hope for a comeback.
2006 Annual Airline Quality Survey Reports:
Top 5 Airlines
1. Hawaiian Air
2. Jet Blue
3. Air Transatlantic
4. Northwest
5. Southwest
75.4% of the flights in 2006 were on time
The best being Hawaiian Air on time 94% of the time and the worst being Atlantic Southeast Airlines 66%
Southwest Airlines had the lowest complaints in 2006
Baggage woes, out of 1,000 bags in 2006 6.5 were damaged, lost, stolen or mishandled.
