The Other Cabo: San Jose Del Cabo Food + Drink17.05.07 |
I have been going to Cabo San Lucas, faithfully, ten years running. It is an easy flight from San Diego (2 hours) and as soon as I land, I can’t wait for my celebratory Margarita poolside. At this point, I have not been loyal to just one property, but I will say my three top choices are Esperanza Resort, One & Only Palmilla and Las Ventanas al Paraiso. I have been up and down the Sea of Cortez for girly getaways, romance, business trips…always with a desire to visit the San Jose Del Cabo, but never getting around to it.
I am ashamed to say that I had not found out about San Jose Del Cabo sooner. The twisted narrow streets and lantern lit corners, made it enjoyable to explore and slip into some fantastic gourmet restaurants and bars. The authentic beauty and genuine people that grace the town of San Jose, beckon a return trip. Here are my recommendations:
La Panga Romantic outdoor terrace in a Colonial ambient setting with lovely reclaimed antiques and magical lighting. Contemporary Mexican cuisine with an emphasis on seafood prepared by chef and co-owner Jacobo Turquie, a graduate from the Culinary Institute of American in New York. Excellent service and innovative menu.
La Santa Restaurant & Bar (pictured above) In Spanish, the name translates to the holy place for wine and boasts a beautiful bar and wine cellar housed in an architecturally pleasing historical site. Soft lighting and quarry stone walls blend effortlessly with the modern contemporary atmosphere where the mood enhancing lounge music integrate soft beats and electronic sounds. Extensive wine and drink menu and an equally pleasing tapas menu with charcuterie and cheeses.
Tequila Restaurant A lovely garden setting with rustic furniture and glowing lanterns. Serving contemporary Mexican cuisine featuring organic vegetables from their own organic farm. The farm provides produce to nearby Palmilla, Las Ventanas and Esperanza just 1 mile from San Jose. Walk-in humidor and extensive tequila list.

Awesome, have you been to all three of the restaurant?
What can you get for forty dollars a day in San Jose del Cabo?
Thanks for the post

Yes, I have visited all three restaurants and they are each fantastic. They are on the higher end of dining in San Jose Del Cabo, however nowhere near the cost of some of the hotel restaurants nearby.

[…] • digg • blinklist January in Sunny Cabo Sun Lucas 29.12.07 | Cabo San Lucas has been a favorite destination for the team at Directory of Hotels. Ourlast reporting was back in May. We’re here like clockwork once a year. Whether my wife and I decide to getaway or take the company for some serious R&R, Cabo can’t be beat. While we’ve been to Cabo in July & August, we highly recommend January through May as it’s the coolest. Remember, Cabo has a desert climate with a mean sun-factor. […]
