Eiffel Tower Restaurant Reigns Again
|

I had the pleasure of eating at the prestigious Jules Verne Restaurant this past June, right after Alain Ducasse had taken the restaurant over (January 2007) and pre-remodel. The cuisine, the service, the view and the experience was fabulous and I couldn’t wait to see what the celebrity chef would unveil for the reopening in December 2007.

Opening a restaurant in the iconic Eiffel Tower comes with its own challenges…

Though only 410 feet up on the second level of the 1,024-foot Eiffel Tower in Paris, there’s no gas cooking because of safety issues. It is said that all the decor had to be light so as not to weigh on the 118-year-old iron structure. Since space is tight, food is washed and prepared in an underground kitchen.

To get to the restaurant, diners take a private elevator ascending to one set of modern french tunes and descending to another. The decor is minimalist, with unusual retro-style tan leather chairs, light-colored tablecloths and clean white plates. The setting’s main attraction is of course the Eiffel Tower structure and the panoramic view of Paris.

A highly recommended splurge while visiting Paris, France you will not regret the experience. Lunch Euro 75 and Dinner, two menus ranging from Euro 155 and Euro 190.
