I’m Not A Plastic Bag - Environmental Shopping Tote
|

The “I’m Not A Plastic Bag” by Anya Hindmarch, a Uk based handbag designer is making a statement with her green shopping tote. It’s actually quite chic and for only $10 everyone can afford to donate to her cause.

The message is simple, DECLINE the dreadful plastic bag whenever possible.

Did you know that a plastic bag can take up to 500 years to decay? Worldwide we use over ONE MILLION plastic bags per minute. When looking at this horrific number, you can imagine what our landfills look like, but also consider the materials, energy and fuel that went into making the bags. As these bags sit slowly decaying at the landfill, they produce tons of methane gas which contributes to, yep you guessed it, global warming. We can certainly make a difference by using less plastic bags. Much less.

Constructed of cream cotton canvas and sturdy rope handles, available March 2007.

I am looking to buy one of these bags but everywhere is sold out. When will more be available?

    From the website…

“Thank you for your interest in this bag. Due to overwhelming demand our pre order allocation has now sold out. We will have more bags available to pre order soon. This bag will also be available to buy in our UK stores from early March and through our retail partners Dover Street Market in London, colette in Paris and Villa Moda in Kuwait from mid March. From 25th April the bag will be available from Sainsbury’s stores nationwide.”

    Hi Everyone

I think the bag is a great idea but it is not alone. We are about to launch a similar concept but the bag will be FREE

We are having sponsors on the bag and that will pay for the manufacture and distribution.

All profits will be going to Charity and Enviromental Causes.

Please go to www.millionbags4life.com and register your interest. We will keep you updated on the project and where you can get one from.

    Thanks
