Paris Connection Part 1: Boutique Hotels, Left Bank
|

With so many choices and so many arrondissments (20), Paris is almost a country unto itself, making it very difficult to choose just one place to stay.

Where do you stay in Paris? Personal preference, really. Here is my hotel guide to the left bank (rive gauche), or if you prefer to learn about the right bank (rive droite), read Paris Boutique Hotels Connection Part II (coming soon).

Left of the seine in Paris you will find Saint-Germain, Latin Quarter, Montparnasse and Eiffel Tower. A little something for everyone is found in the left bank, from Saint Germain Des Pres full of the trendy, vibrant and the fashionable to the Latin Quarter filled with the youthful and Paris’s university life, which has been present for nearly seven hundred years.

The most central location in the left bank is the 5th (Latin Quarter), 6th (Saint Germain) & 7th (Musee) arrondissements, most noted for the art galleries, jazz & literary cafe’s (home to the Les Deux Magot), small restaurants and jewelry stores. Some of its famous streets are Boulevard Saint Germain des Prés, Saint Michel, and Rue d’Ulm where the picturesque narrow cobblestone streets are a perfect place for lovers, writers, artists and tourists alike, to enjoy life passing by.
