Backyard Travels: Laguna Beach
28.08.06 |
I feel very fortunate to live in Southern California. There is a mulitude of fabulous excursions within just a few hours away of my home base in San Diego. With the tightening of security in airports, it seems so much easier to pack up a bag, jump in the car and take a road trip.
And that, is just how my weekend began.
Celebrating our four-year anniversary, my husband and I decided to check out the picturesque Laguna Beach’s Montage Resort. With an hours drive and world apart from San Diego the ultra luxurious beach resort and quaint artistic community was beautifully romantic. The cozy craftsman style beachfront resort is situated on the most gorgeous and pristine coastal bluff that I have seen in the southern California area.
With room rates beginning at $745 (all have ocean views), I was a little disappointed with the room and balcony size, more inspiring was the bathroom, which included dual sinks, an oversized deep soak bathtub, but a less impressive shower. However, none of that mattered much, when waking up to the crashing waves of the pacific.
The service was impeccable throughout the resort, with the exception of the pool bar/restaurant, where the young staff much resembled the reality show ‘Laguna Beach’ having a little too much fun lingering with each other.
Whether it’s spa treatments, dining at the Studio, shopping or enjoying the natural habitat of the beaches you will find Montage Resort is an inspiring place to visit.
